Aren't stereotypes thought of as typical from an ignorant point of view, but in fact usually wrong?
Thick racist bigot is the Alf Garnet sterotype, whereas in reality, most Hammers are (were) good humoured and generous and open to all, as long as they come in peace. They are the Eastenders I remember from when I first started going. The types that survived the blitz; the types that gave the bigots a good kicking on Cable Street.
I voteTed Fenton, who perhaps secretly is a raving nazi, but seems the type who wouldn't turn his back on anyone.
